Ingredients:

1 cup basmati rice
1 tablespoon cumin seeds
1 tablespoon oil
Salt [Optional]

Instructions

1) Wash and strain basmati rice. Keep this aside for 15 minutes.

2) Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Add cumin seeds and roast this for 30 seconds.

3) Now add basmati rice and roast for 7 minutes.

4) Reduce the flame to low and Pour 2 cups of hot water. If you like to add salt you can add it at this point. Mix well.

5) Cover and cook this for 7 to 8 minutes.

6) Turn off the flame. Open this only after 10 minutes. Serve hot. Tastes best with Rajma Masala.
