Ingredients

3/4 cup  toor dal
3 drumstick
1 tomato
2 green chilies
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
Salt  

To Grind:

1 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup water

For tempering:

1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 sprig curry leaves
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
3 dried red chilly
1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds

Directions

1) Use a pressure cooker to cook the dal till it achieves a smooth consistency (3 to 4 whistles should be fine).

2) Grind shredded coconut with water to a fine paste.

3) Cook drumstick, tomato, green chilies with turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt in 1 cup of water.

4) Add cooked dal and ground coconut paste. Mix well. Bring to boil.

5) Now remove the curry from the flame and keep this aside.

6) To add the finish touches, heat coconut oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds. To this add the curry leaves, dried red chilies and fenugreek seeds. Mix well. Add this to the Curry. Serve hot with rice.
