Ingredients
1/2 cup kidney beans
1/2 cup chana dal
1/2 cup split urad dal
1 1/2 tablespoon ghee
5-6 cloves
2 black cardamom
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon crushed coriander seeds
2 onions finely chopped
2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste
2 tomatoes chopped
1 teaspoon cumin powder
3/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
3 cups of water
Salt to taste
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Directions
1) Soak kidney beans, chana dal and split urad dal overnight. Cook this in a cooker with 1 cup of water for 6-7 whistles.
2) Heat ghee in a pan and add black cardamom and cloves. Saute for 30 seconds.
3) Now add cumin and crushed coriander seeds. Mix well.
4) Add onion and saute until it becomes golden brown.
5) Add curry leaves and ginger garlic paste fry for 30 seconds.
6) Time to add tomatoes. Fry this until the tomatoes are cooked well.
7) Add salt, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder and saute for 1 min.
8) Add cooked dal and mix well.
9) Pour 1 cup of water to this and mash the dal well.
10) Add 1 more cup of water and mix well. Bring this to boil.
11) Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
