Serves: 2

500 grams chicken
2 tablespoon oil
1 big onions, grated
1 small cinnamon
2 cloves
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder / 2 cardamom pods
1 tablespoon ginger
1 tablespoon garlic
1 medium tomato grated
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
1/4 teaspoon garam masala
1 tablespoon coriander leaves, Chopped
3 strings curry leaves
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 cup water
Salt to taste


  1. Heat oil in a pan (medium flame) and roast cinnamon, cloves and cardamom powder/pods.
  2. Add grated onion and saute till its golden brown. Now add crushed ginger and garlic. Fry for 30 seconds.
  3. Add grated tomato and cook it for 1 minute. Now add all the powders except garam masala and mix well.
  4. Add salt, chicken & water and mix well. Close the pan and cook it for 10 to 15 minutes or until the chicken is well cooked.
  5. Add garam masala and coriander leaves. Mix well and switch off the flame.
  6. Serve with chapati/rice..
