Ingredients:
1 kilogram prawns/shrimp
1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
2 green chilly, slit
2 big onions, thinly sliced
10 shallots, thinly sliced
2 1/2 tablespoons red chilly powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala (optional)
2 cambodge (kudampuli) / kokum
Salt to taste
3 strings curry leaves
2 tablespoons coconut oil

Ingredients:
1 kilogram prawns/shrimp
1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste

10 shallots, thinly sliced
2 1/2 tablespoons red chilly powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala (optional)
2 cambodge (kudampuli) / kokum
Salt to taste
3 strings curry leaves
2 tablespoons coconut oil
Directions
- Soak cambodge(kudampuli) / kokum in 2 tablespoons of water for 5 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon coconut oil in a pan and add ginger garlic paste. Saute for 30 seconds.
- Add turmeric powder,green chilies and half of red chili powder. Mix well.
- To this add prawns/shrimp, soaked cambodge(kudampuli) / kokum and salt. Add some curry leaves and mix well.Close the pan and cook shrimp for 10 minutes in medium flame.
- Switch off the flame and keep cooked shrimp aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon coconut oil in a pan on medium flame. Add thinly sliced onions and saute it until golden brown.
- Add shallots, the rest of red chili powder and curry leaves to this and fry it for 1 minute or until the shallots are cooked.
- To this add cooked shrimp and mix well. Roast the prawns/shrimp for 15 mins or until it reach desired consistency.
- Switch off the flame and garnish with curry leaves.
