Ingredients:
300 gram fish, cubed
1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
1 teaspoon lime juice
1/4 teaspoon pepper powder
1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
Salt to taste
For the batter:
4 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons cornflour
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon pepper powder
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
5 tablespoons water
Salt to taste
For the sauce:
4 sprigs green onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, chopped.
1 teaspoon chilly powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper powder
1 teaspoon soy sauce
2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon green chilly sauce or 3 green chilies
3/4 tablespoon cornflour
1/2 cup water
Spring onions to garnish
Directions
- Marinate the fish pieces with ginger garlic paste, lime juice, pepper powder, red chili powder and salt for 15 minutes.
- Mix flour, corn flour, soy sauce, pepper powder and salt with water and make a medium consistency batter. Not too thick or watery.
- Dip each marinated fish pieces in this batter and deep fry. Keep the fried fish aside.
- Heat oil in a pan in medium flame. Add garlic and spring onions. Saute well.
- To this add green chilies(tastes best when you use green chilly sauce) , pepper powder, red chili powder, soy sauce, tomato ketchup and stir well.
- In a separate bowl, mix cornflour and water. Add this to the pan and mix well.
- Add salt, sugar and fried fish and stir well.
- Switch off the flame and garnish with spring onions. Serve hot.
