Pazham Pori literally means fried bananas. Try this super simple recipe made with ripe bananas for a delightful evening snack.

Serves: 3
1 big ripe plantain (Nendrapazham/Ethakka), thinly sliced
1 cup all purpose flour
3 tablespoon sugar
3 tablespoon semolina (rava), very fine [See the note 1 below ]
1/2 to 3/4 cup water
salt to taste
oil to deep fry [See the note 2 below]
Directions
- In a bowl mix flour, sugar, semolina and salt.
- Add water little by little and make a batter with thick consistency.
- Heat oil to medium hot. Dip plantain slices in the batter one at a time and deep fry till both the sides are golden brown.
Note :
- Use very fine semolina for the crispness. If you don't have semolina use rice powder instead.
- Pazham Pori tastes best if fried in coconut oil.
