Green Peas Masala, a quick dish which goes well with chapati, appam, porotta or rice..

Serves: 3
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup green peas,fresh or frozen (see the note below)
2 tablespoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
1 big onion, thinly sliced
2 tsp ginger, finely chopped
2 tsp garlic, finely chopped
2 green chilies
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
2 teaspoon coriander powder
1 1/2 cup water
1 medium tomato
salt to taste
Directions
- Heat oil in a pan. Add fennel seeds, onion, ginger, garlic and green chili.
- Saute till the onions are in golden brown and grind it to a fine paste.
- Add this ground mixture to the pan. Add water and mix it well.
- Then add green peas (see the note below), tomato and salt. Mix well and cook it for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Open the pan and simmer the curry to your preferred consistency.
- Finally add cilantro and serve.
Note: If you are using dried green peas, soak it overnight. And pressure cook the soaked green peas till its done.
