Honey BBQ Chicken
Honey BBQ Chicken

Serves: 2


500 gram chicken, cubed

1 cup flour
2 eggs
1 teaspoon black pepper powder
1/2 teaspoon red chilly powder [Optional]
2 Dried red chilies [Optional]
1 Spring Onion/Scallions, finely chopped
Oil to deep fry
Salt to taste

For the sauce:
3 tablespoons BBQ sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon vinegar


  1. In a bowl combine flour, pepper powder, chilly powder and salt. Mix well and keep aside.
  2. To a separate bowl, beat eggs with salt and keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan. Dredge the chicken with the flour mix, shake of excess, then dip in egg and then back in the flour mixture for a second coat. Gently place the chicken pieces in the hot oil and fry till the chicken is done. Drain off excess oil on paper towels.
  4. To prepare the sauce, mix all the ingredients for the sauce together.
  5. To a large bowl, add the fried chicken and the desired amount of sauce and toss well until the chicken is coated evenly with the sauce.
  6. Garnish with finely chopped spring onion/scallions.
Note: If you prefer a little more heat, you could saute the chilies lightly in oil, crush them and add to the bowl while the chicken is tossed with the sauce.
