Chicken - 250 gms
Onion - 2 Medium
Tomato - 1 Medium
Ginger - 1/2 tsp
Garlic - 1/2 tsp
Red chilly powder - 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Fennel powder - 1/4 tsp
Fenugreek powder - 1/4 tsp
Green chilly - 3
Coriander leaves
Mint leaves
Curry leaves
Salt to taste
Oil- 1 cup


  1. Cook the chicken with 1/2 tbsp chilly powder, turmeric powder , Coriander powder, Fennel powder and salt.
  2. Heat oil in a pan . Deep fry the onions and keep it aside.
  3. In the same oil add tomato, ginger, garlic, green chilly, coriander leaves,mint leaves,curry leaves and stir well.
  4. Add chilly powder, garam masala and turmeric powder and mix well.
  5. When oil starts appearing add cooked chicken with excess water and stir well. Add fried onions in it and allow it to cook for 5-10 min.
  6. This curry has a semi gravy consistency and chicken pieces should be coated with  masala. 
  7. Serve hot with rice/appam/roti.
