   For filling

            1 1/2 cup green gram (soaked over night)
            1 cup jaggery (crushed)
            1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
            1 tablespoon ghee/coconut oil
            1 cup water

  For batter

             1 1/4 cup maida (all purpose flour)
             1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder (for color)
             1 tablespoon sugar
             Salt to taste
             1 cup water

Oil to deep fry

  1. Pressure cook the green gram by adding 1 1/4 cup water and salt. Turn of the heat after 4 whistles and wait till the pressure cooker settles.
  2. Open the cooker. If there is extra water, heat again till the water evaporates.
  3. Make jaggery syrup by boiling crushed jaggery in 1/2 cup water.Add cardamom powder and cooked green gram.Mix well and add ghee/coconut oil. Keep it aside.
  4. Meanwhile prepare a thick batter with all purpose flour ,water ,salt,sugar and turmeric powder. 
  5. Heat oil in a pan . Divide the filling into ten equal portions .Dip each portions into the batter and deep fry it.Serve hot.
