Milk - 2 cups
Egg - 5 nos.
Sugar - 10 tbsp
Vanilla extract - 1 tbsp
Sugar (for caramel) - 8 tbsp


  1. In a pan take 8 tbsp of sugar and mix it with little water.Heat it until the sugar melts and turn golden.
  2. Transfer the caramelized sugar to a bowl. This bowl will be used to prepare the custard.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the eggs. Add 10 tbsp sugar, milk and vanilla extract and mix well.
  4. Pour the mixture over the caramelized sugar.
  5. Place the custard inside a steamer and cook for 1/2 an hour in low flame. Insert a fork in center and if it comes out clean its ready to take out.
  6. Allow the pudding to cool a little. To un-mold the custard, place a serving dish or plate on top of the custard bowl. turn the serving down and allow the custard to un-mold itself. 
  7. Serve the custard warm or chilled as desired.
